Like an advance scout, I arrived in Des Moines the day before MJ. Quickly got the lay of the land. A fairly large city, with empty streets – like a scary movie set no one walks the streets. Sky walks connect all of the downtown buildings and parking lots. We walked miles around the city. They have a six mile Art walk with tons of public art. Here is a small sample of what you will find. And of course they have the Iowa State Fair – highly recommend it.
